School holidays have now come to an end in Chipanje Chetu, and it is time for all Umi Wango scholarship holders to return to their studies for the next term.

The Yambone community project management team is please to announce that all Umi Wango scholarship holders living in Secundo Congresso (on our northern border with Tanzania) and Maumbica (in the southern part of the project area) have made it back safely to Macaloge Secondary School. Maique Issufo the local Umi Wango coordinator and conservation education manager at Yambone, accompanied the students on their journey, making sure it went smoothly (despite a few potholes making the road bumpy).

Maique Issufo and some of the Umi Wango students wearing their new school shoes.

Thanks to the program’s generous sponsors, all Umi Wango students have been given new school shoes, toiletries and stationary and are ready to dedicate themselves to the next few months of studying.

New school shoes (with a polishing kit) toiletries which include soap and toothpaste as well as basic stationary.

With that, we wish all of our students a great start to the term!

Yambone, Make Better.
